Charleston Seafood is one of the largest and most respected seafood processing companies out there. The scale of their operations and their selection of products is perfect for people who are looking for local Carolina seafood as well as occasionally branching out to more exotic types of seafood. Each product comes with a detailed description letting you know if it’s wild-caught or farm-raised, locally-sourced, quantities, and delivery options—including whether the seafood is available for fresh or frozen delivery.

If you’re looking for a small-scale, 100% locally-sourced direct sales fishing company, then Charleston Seafood probably isn’t the best choice for you. What they do offer is a state-of-the-art seafood processing plant that ensures quick but strictly-controlled procedures for filleting, processing, and freezing their products.

Shipping

Charleston Seafood has among the most dynamic shipping and delivery options of any seafood company. Along with letting you know if the product is available for fresh or frozen delivery, the shipping options include overnight or two-day delivery. It will quote you a customized delivery price based on your location and then confirm that price before you place the order. For some perspective, we created a small order shipped to St. Louis, MO and were quoted prices of $72 for overnight delivery and $38 for two-day delivery.

Types of Fish

Salmon, grouper, halibut, sea bass, mahi mahi, swordfish, red snapper, tilapia, monkfish, sashimi tuna, trout, catfish, wahoo, flounder. Wild caught fresh shrimp, rock shrimp, peeled and deveined shrimp. Live Maine lobster, lobster tails, king crab legs, crab meat, crab cakes, oysters, mussels, clams, caviar, calamari, conch.

Quality and Consistency

While much of their seafood comes from the ocean waters near the Carolina coast, they also source seafood from more distant locations as well as seafood farms. Nevertheless, everything is certified and processed at their Charleston facility. This is done quickly and thoroughly, as only a state-of-the-art processing facility could achieve. Thus, while Charleston Seafood offers a wide range of seafood products from various sources, they still boast of freshness and super-fast turnaround times that they like to call “hook to table.”
